  1. Welcome to BatMail!!
  2.  
  3. Before you run BatMail for the first time *please* make
  4. the following arrangements:
  5.  
  6. 1. Create or appoint a Server directory  
  7.  
  8. this must be a commonly shared directory on a server which 
  9. all users can access. This is the directory where Batmail puts
  10. outgoing mail and attachments. Other Batmail-clients poll this
  11. directory for new mail.
  12.  
  13. 2. Create or appoint an Addressbook directory
  14.  
  15. this must be a commonly shared directory on a server which
  16. all users can access. This is the directory where BatMail 
  17. keeps the addressbook with the names of users, groups and
  18. group-members.
  19.  
  20. 3. Create a Local Mail directory
  21.  
  22. this is a local directory on a local PC where BatMail keeps
  23. its mail-files.
  24.  
  25. 4. Run Batmail and tell it where to find these directories.
  26.  
  27. 5. Add at least 1 user to the mail-system.

  30. About testing BatMail
  31. ---------------------

  33. You could very well test BatMail on a stand-alone PC to
  34. see if you like it before you install it in a LAN.
  35. The server-mail and address-book directory will of course
  36. have to reside locally as well.
  37. The only drawback is that you can only send mail to yourself!
